Ed Deveau
Ed Deveau, a Principal Partner of Turning Point Solutions, has 30 years of project management experience in data center operations, systems development and disaster recovery/business continuity planning. Before establishing his own consulting practice, Ed was employed at State Street Corp., and Comdisco Disaster Recovery Services.
Ed's experiences in managing data center operations and application systems development projects led him into his current focus in disaster recovery/business continuity planning and Y2K remediation and mitigation planning.
Accomplishments:
Developed and implemented a corporate disaster recovery/business continuity program that included both data center and business unit recovery planning and testing.
Some of the Program highlights included: Eight recovery hotsite subscriptions, using multiple vendors A data communications recovery network with global endpoints and high speed channel extension Three remote hot standby systems, with remote journaling and 1 hour recovery to point of failure. Check processing recovery hotsite with remote channel extension connecting it to the Mainframe recovery hotsite.
A corporate-wide Business recovery planning program with a Corporate steering committee and a network of business recovery coordinators in business units thru-out the organization An In-house business recovery facility A testing program that involved multiple sites, multiple platforms and participation of a worldwide user community.
Developed and implemented a comprehensive program linking business unit recovery testing with data center recovery tests. Was a two time recipient of the Chairmanís award for excellence while at State Street Corp.
Served two terms as a member of the Comdisco National Advisory Board Was a founding member and president of the first CDRS user group established in New England Is a member of the New England Disaster Recovery Information Exchange (NEDRIX) Board of Directors.
